AIM+ welcomed 275 athletes to the vertical jump testing station at JVA SummerFest in Columbus, Ohio, this weekend. Participants ranged from the 11U to 17U divisions and included an open fan and coach category. Among the many impressive performances recorded throughout the event, one athlete separated herself from the field.
Makenzie Griffiths of Dunes 15 Black delivered the top performance in the 15U division, leading her age group in every measured category. Griffiths recorded a 9'7" approach touch, a 9'5" block touch, and a 28-inch vertical jump, the highest vertical recorded in the 15U division.
Combined with a standing reach of 7'1", Griffiths' ability to reach 9'5" on the block showcases a rare combination of athleticism, power, and body control that stands out at any age level.
Performances like this are exactly what AIM+ testing is designed to highlight, providing athletes with measurable benchmarks while giving coaches and recruiters valuable insight into an athlete's physical capabilities and potential.
