Alan Knipe Inducted into AVCA Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Long Beach State Legend Honored for Building a Dynasty in Collegiate Volleyball


In a recognition of his impact on collegiate volleyball, Alan Knipe, the legendary head coach of Long Beach State men's volleyball, has been selected for induction into the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

Knipe has built one of the top programs in the nation, contributing to all four of Long Beach State's NCAA national championships, one as a player and three as head coach. 

His tenure has also included multiple Final Four appearances, seven AVCA National Players of the Year, dozens of All-Americans, and countless athletes who have advanced to the highest levels of the sport, including Olympians.

Throughout his career, Knipe has fostered a culture of excellence, integrity, and passion that has become synonymous with Southern California volleyball.

This honor caps a remarkable career for Knipe, who recently announced his retirement.
